The best of the Gourmet Festival 2016

For four evenings, first-class star chefs and wineries were the guests of Christian and Alexander Marent, and they all took the visitors to the Gourmet Festival 2016 on a culinary world tour.

At the start of the winter season, the kitchen at Das Marent was bubbling over. With your culinary event in the lead-up to Christmas, the Marent brothers once again made their mark on the gourmet world in Fiss.

LAUNCH EVENT WITH DIETER KOSCHINA, A STAR CHEF FROM PORTUGAL.

The starting shot for the Gourmet Festival was fired on Thursday, 8th December. The star chef Dieter Koschina from Villa Joya in Portugal, who has two Michelin stars, led the evening with his refined creations. His meal was accompanied by a selection of full-bodied wines from the winemakers Michael Schwarz and Gerhard Kracher.

2 TOP CHEFS AND THE "WILD ONE FROM THE ALPS".

On the second evening, the Tyrolean scene chef, Christoph Zangerl, known as “the wild one from the Alps” met Wolfgang Bauer, and the two top chefs came together to cook at the renowned Hotel Schacher. Together, they served up some really fantastic meals at Bruderherzstube. Pure indulgence, which you are unlikely to experience like this again for a long time. However, Christoph Zangerl is no longer entirely devoted to cooking, as he also has other interests. The Paul Achs winery at the Neusiedlersee in Burgenland graced this unique evening with their top wines, made from hand-picked grapes.

HEALTHY AND INCREDIBLY GOOD.

On Saturday, 10th December, the culinary stage was open to Bruno Sojer, who currently works as the head chef at “Hotel Mohr-Life Resort” in Leermoos, conjuring up gourmet delights. He also treated his guests to an evening of indulgent creations in front of the crackling fireplace. The meal was accompanied by a selection of full-bodied wines from the Kracher/Burgenland winery and Braida from Italy/Piemont.

2 CHEFS - 5 STARS.

On Sunday, 11th December, the star chefs Jacob-Jan Boerma, who has 3 Michelin stars, and Dieter Koshina, with 2 Michelin stars, were responsible for the grand closing event of the Gourmet Festival 2016. Also involved were the internationally renowned winemakers Gerald Tschida, Klaus Fetzner from Capanelle, and Niepoort, as well as the whole  Das Marent team. On this day, we celebrated life with sparkling DOM PERIGNON champagne as an aperitif, with a raging farewell party going on in the kitchen.

RAGING KITCHEN PARTIES.

Like every other day of the Gourmet Festival, this one also ended with a legendary kitchen party. DJ sounds, KELLER’S GIN, WILD COFFEE and small talk with the guest chef included. At the end of the night, the free Audi shuttle brought all of the visitors from the Landeck and Imst regions safely back to the hotel, where they were staying.
